City Council Special Call Meeting - Public Hearing Economic Development

The City of Hendersonville City Council will hold a SPECIAL CALLED MEETING on Thursday, April 21, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. in the Assembly Room of the City Operations Building located at 305 Williams St. Hendersonville, NC 28792.      The purpose of this meeting is to conduct a

 

PUBLIC HEARING

 

To consider granting economic development incentives in an amount of up to $5,505,500.00 and a sale of real property (portion of REID# 1010646) by private sale at fair market value to a company, known as PROJECT INDEPENDENCE, based upon a proposed taxable capital investment of $185,000,000.00 in real and personal property and the creation of 117 jobs paying an average wage of $52,437.00, plus benefits, over a 5-year period. The City Council will also consider approving the City’s relocation, upsizing and improvement of the City’s waterlines running along and through the Project Site, at a maximum cost of $1,390,000.00.  The waterline relocation would be funded from general funds, water and sewer enterprise funds, and, if approved, public and private grant funds.

                             

The public may view, listen, and verbally comment on public hearings or give public hearing comment live via ZOOM. For security reasons screen sharing will not be allowed. In accordance with NC GS 166A-19.24(e), written/digital public hearing comments must be received 24 hours in advance of the public hearing/ by 10:00 a.m. on April 20, 2022, to be considered by the City Council.
