Parks & Greenspace Plan

The City of Hendersonville Public Works Department is updating Hendersonville's Parks and Greenspace Master Plan. This plan will establish a vision and blueprint for future parks, greenways, and greenspaces in the City of Four Seasons. Community members are invited to provide their ideas in a community survey and attend upcoming in-person meetings.

The Parks and Greenspace survey is available at www.hvlnc.gov/cohparks and will be collecting community responses through December 2023. Community members are also invited to provide feedback at two input sessions on Tuesday, October 10, 2023. The sessions will be offered from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at City Hall in the Second Floor Meeting Room at 160 Sixth Avenue East. The sessions will be drop-in style and city staff and consultants with Design Workshop will be collecting attendee feedback and ideas.

Hendersonville's Parks and Greenspace Master Plan will prioritize the Parks Division's funding and resources, review staffing, and envision where and what types of parks, greenspaces, and greenways will be needed in Hendersonville in the future. The original plan was produced and adopted by City Council in 2011. An update to the plan is currently underway and expected to be adopted in the summer of 2024.

The City of Hendersonville is also in the process of updating its Comprehensive Plan, which helps inform future land use including the development of parks and green space. By filling out the Gen H Comprehensive Plan survey and providing feedback on parks at Council Member Jerry Smith’s Council Comp-versation on October 9th, community members will also be shaping the city’s parks planning efforts.
