The City of Hendersonville has developed a citywide Parks and Greenspace Master Plan (PDF, 6 MB) that offers a vision and roadmap for our park and greenspace system that serves all people in Hendersonville, with a focus on equity and resilience.
Edwards Park & the Laura E. Corn Mini Golf Course is at the corner of N. Main and Locust at 904 N. The site consists of an 18-hole ADA accessible mini-golf course, concession stand and fenced in playground.
Edwards Park & the Laura E. Corn Mini Golf Course
Located adjacent to Sullivan Park in the historic 7th Avenue district, this community garden was started in 2011 with a partnership between the City of Hendersonville and a few dedicated community members to use City land for Hendersonville’s first community garden in the Green Meadows community. The garden includes raised garden beds, ADA, and tall garden beds for gardeners with mobility needs. A pergola, fruit trees, and various other pollinator plants are included in the garden as well as a dedicated children's garden. Wilson Park is currently under design for floodplain restoration and increased stormwater storage. This property will help provide greenway trail connections and include a natural surface trail.
Grove Street Park is located just southeast of Mainstreet and is currently under design for floodplain restoration and increased stormwater storage. The park will include a natural surface trail.
This park is located at 4th Avenue and Grove Street and features picnic tables, a walking path, and a granite memorial.
Located at 69 Balfour Road. The park has been split into two parcels. The large parcel located at 69 Balfour Road is now owned by Henderson County Public Schools. The smaller parcel on the right past the entrance to Berkeley Park was retained by the City and features a trailhead for the Oklawaha Greenway Trail. Plans are being developed for a disk golf course. Phase three of the Oklawaha Greenway connects to the Park at Balfour Road.
Four Seasons Rotary Park is comprised of a pavilion with two picnic tables, a paved walking trail with park benches along the trail, and an equipped playground.
HonorAir Park was established to create a visual entrance feature to Historic Downtown Hendersonville from the south. The triangular area of green space contains a Historic Downtown Hendersonville rock wall feature as well as flags and a small area with trees bordering the future intersection with the Ecusta Trail. The park was originally known as Southside Gateway Park and later dedicated at HonorAir Park to celebrate local Veterans and the Blue Ridge Honor Flight and HonorAir programs.
Lennox Park is comprised of one-half acre and has picnic tables, a grill and several trees for shade. It also has a historic natural spring.
The Oklawaha Greenway Trail (PDF, 2 MB) begins near the Henderson County Parks & Recreation building in Jackson Park and travels three and a quarter miles to Berkeley Mills Park with connections to Patton Park, Sullivan Park, and William H. King Memorial Park. The trail closely follows Mud Creek and is mostly shaded by mature trees along the trail and creek. The trail is ten feet wide with an asphalt surface. Mileage signs are placed every quarter of a mile along the trail to help trail users know how far they have traveled and how much farther it is to their destination. Several benches are placed along the trail for people to stop and take a rest. There are three bike FixIt Stations with common tools for working on bicycles located at Berkeley Mills Park, Patton Park, and Jackson Park. We have drinking fountains located at Berkeley Mills Park and at the 7th Avenue crossing area by the City's dog park, Pets' Own Place. All motorized vehicles and/or equipment including scooters are prohibited from the trail (except for city and county maintenance equipment and Law Enforcement).

CURRENTLY UNDER CONSTRUCTION - Patton Park is comprised of 19 acres and features: 2 basketball courts, 1 tennis court, 4 pickleball courts, a general purpose field with 4 soccer goals, two pavilions with picnic tables and grills, 2 gazebos, a playground for tots, a one-half mile lighted walking trail, bathrooms, a skate park, and Patton Pool (currently closed due to damage sustained by Hurricane Helene).
The operating hours for Patton Park and the Skate Park are 7 am - 11 pm daily.
If you are interested in reserving the pavilion for a private party, please call Public Works at (828) 697-3084. The large pavilion (next to the pool) is available to rent in four hour increments for $50. If you wish to reserve for the entire day the fee is $100. The small pavilion (next to the basketball courts) is $25 for four hours and $50 for the entire day.
Due to impacts from Hurricane Helene, Pet’s Own Place Dog Park on Seventh Avenue is partially open. The bottom lot will remain closed at this time as we work on making necessary repairs. We appreciate the community’s patience as we continue to recover and rebuild from Helene’s impact on our region.
Pet's Own Place on Seventh Avenue is a fenced dog park with two separate sections for small and large dogs. There is also a waste bag dispenser, trash receptacle, and a water spigot. The park is located across Mud Creek at the Oklawaha Greenway trailhead. Parking is available off Seventh Avenue.
Sullivan Park is located in the Green Meadows subdivision across from the Brooklyn Community Garden. It is comprised of five acres and features include; two basketball courts, an equipped playground, a pavilion with picnic tables, and a public restroom (open seasonally). There is also a section of greenway to connect Sullivan Park with the Oklawaha Greenway Trail.
CURRENTLY UNDER CONSTRUCTION - Located on Lily Pond Lane, Tom's Park comprises five acres and features: 14 shuffleboard courts, picnic tables, and the Whitmire Activity Building. The Whitmire Activity building is closed until further notice due to Hurricane Helene's damage.
William H. King Memorial Park comprises six acres and features: a baseball field, a one-mile nature trail, and a one-half mile walking trail.
On October 11, 1982, this park was dedicated the William H. King Memorial Park. The late Mr. King was a native of Hendersonville and active in many civic and church organizations including: a deacon at Union Grove Baptist Church, scoutmaster, Little League coach, chair of Western Carolina Community Action Board, and Chair of the Community Chest of Berkeley Mills. He was employed by Berkeley Mills as a supervising foreman.
