Enjoy Downtown Hendersonville during the Holidays! We have so many special events for you to get your holiday fill. See the list below of all the different events. Special thanks to the Henderson County Tourism Development Authority for their support in downtown holiday events!
Nov. 19 and Dec. 3: Holiday Farmers Markets: Maple Street 9am-1pm
This is a great opportunity for shoppers to look locally for unique gifts and holiday decorations, as well as to stock their pantries with feast-worthy baked goods and seasonal food items. More than 25 vendors are currently signed up to participate, half of which are craft vendors.
Nov. 24: Turkey Trot: City Hall 8:30am – 10:30am
The City of Hendersonville’s Wellness Committee will be hosting the 10th Annual Turkey Trot 5k Thanksgiving morning on November 24, 2022.
The 5K Course begins in front of City Hall at Fifth Avenue East and King Street, travels through downtown, and ends back at City Hall.
Nov. 25: Holiday Tree Lighting – Historic Henderson County Courthouse - 5-8pm
All are welcome to gather on the Historic Courthouse Plaza to sing Christmas carols, sip hot cocoa and watch for the man in red. Kick off Small Business Saturday early by visiting your favorite downtown merchants! Once Santa arrives, he will flip the switch to illuminate the tree on the plaza and the lights along Main Street.
Nov. 26: Small Business Saturday – All day!
Plan your Christmas shopping downtown! A gift from a local business is a gift made or sold with love. Support our downtown businesses on Small Business Saturday and all holiday season.
Dec. 2: Old Fashioned Christmas – Historic Downtown Hendersonville - 5-8pm
Join us for an olde fashioned open house with all downtown Hendersonville’s wonderful assortment of destination shops, family friendly entertainment and fabulous eateries!
Take a magical ride through Historic Downtown Hendersonville among its twinkling lights and festive decorations. The serpentine street adds to the leisurely pace of the horse, so you can slow down and savor the moment
Henderson County Parks and Recreation will accompany Downtown’s Old-Fashioned Christmas on December 2, 2022 from 5-8pm with Santa on the Square. It will include selfies with Santa, hot cocoa, games, crafts, specials guests and more. Santa on the Square will be hosted in front of the Historic Courthouse in Downtown Hendersonville.
Dec. 3: Christmas Parade - 6pm – Enjoy an evening parade in downtown Hendersonville with the theme “Christmas Lights” The parade steps off at at 6pm heading south down Main Street. See more details.
Dec. 17: Jingle Jog - 8:30am The 5k course starts and finishes in downtown Hendersonville and runs through nearby neighborhood streets. No event is complete without treats, and good things come to those who race! All finishers will select a custom HOPE ornament off the tree as their ‘finisher’s medal.’ Cookies and a fantastic hot chocolate bar will be waiting for participants at the finish line. All ages and abilities are welcome. Holiday attire is especially welcomed for this festive winter race!
Dec. 11: Cookie Caper Historic Tour - 1- 4pmOn this self-driving tour, you’ll enjoy unique holiday treats while touring beautifully decorated historic properties. Ticket purchase includes a brochure that contains a map and a brief history of each property. Inn keepers will offer a different holiday treat to guests as they explore the historic properties.
This event takes place on Sunday, December 11th from 1:00-4:00PM. Tickets are available for purchase at the Hendersonville Visitor Information Center, 201 South Main Street, Hendersonville, NC. (828) 693-9708.

Dec. 17: Holiday Train Rides with Mountain Fresh Orchards - Historic Henderson County Courthouse - 5-8pm
Mountain Fresh Orchards will provide holiday train rides on Main Street, hop on the train at the Historic Courthouse where they will have fresh baked and canned goods. Ellaberry Llama Farm will have a photo opportunity with two llamas and holiday cheer.
