Cane Creek Redundant Waterline Project
Milestone timeline:

The City of Hendersonville proposes to construct a new waterline connection along Mills Gap Road to improve the reliability, resiliency, and long-term sustainability of water service to the Cane Creek Industrial Park and Hoopers Creek areas.
The existing City-owned waterline is located along Cane Creek Industrial Park Road and currently rests at the bottom of Cane Creek and was washed out during Hurricane Helene. Its location makes the infrastructure particularly vulnerable to flooding, waterborne debris, erosion, and other environmental impacts associated with future storm events. The proposed waterline will be constructed along Mills Gap Road. This new water line will provide a more durable, redundant waterline connection while improving the City's ability to maintain and protect the system.
The City was awarded $850,000 in grant funding from the North Carolina Department of Commerce Rural Engagement and Investment Fund Smart Biz program for the project.
