Patton Pool
Patton Pool is currently closed due to damage caused by Hurricane Helene.
Patton Pool was severely damaged during Hurricane Helene and remains closed. The City completed a community input process in 2025 of the future of Patton Pool and are currently working through the process with FEMA and design consultants to replace the fifty-year old pool. City Council made the decision to develop an outdoor pool design that supports competitive swimmers and families.
The City posted a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for architectural and engineering consultants to assess the site and develop a comprehensive redesign of the pool and surrounding facilities. This evaluation and redesign process, along with the subsequent construction, has the potential to take multiple years to complete and no timeline for reopening has been established this early in the process. The overall scope of the project will be determined by FEMA reimbursement and construction costs.
While we understand the community’s disappointment, we are committed to ensuring Patton Pool’s restoration will serve future generations with improved safety, functionality, and resilience.
