Bradford Pear Bounty

To help combat the spread of the invasive Bradford Pear tree, the Hendersonville Tree Board and NC State University partner to host the annual Bradford Pear Bounty program, an invasive tree replacement program that rewards property owners for removing Bradford Pears from their property.
Bradford Pears are an invasive tree species that cause significant ecological harm to the environment by displacing native species and wildlife that depend on native species for food and habitat.
This exchange is free and open to the public. For every Bradford Pear tree you remove, you can receive one free replacement tree – up to five total. Participants must register on the Bradford Pear Bounty website to be eligible for the program.
This event typically takes place in the spring each year. Pre-registration is required, and participants must provide a photo of the Bradford Pear that they have removed or treated with herbicide.
