Local Businesses Invited to Compete for Top Honors in Apple Festival Window Display Contest

The streets of downtown Hendersonville will come alive with festive flair as local businesses participate in the beloved Apple Festival Window Display Competition, a cherished tradition of the North Carolina Apple Festival, taking place August 29 through September 1, 2025.

Each year, Main Street transforms into a vibrant showcase of apple-themed creativity as businesses compete to design the most eye-catching and spirited window displays. The competition not only celebrates Hendersonville’s deep-rooted apple heritage but also highlights the artistic energy and community pride of its local merchants.

Downtown businesses are invited to decorate their storefronts with the apple-inspired theme for 2025 “Orchard Roots, Mountain Spirit” that celebrates the essence of the festival and our community. Displays will be judged on creativity, festive spirit, originality, best use of apples, and educational value. Winners will be recognized during the festival’s Opening Ceremony, featured across official social media channels, awarded a trophy and prizes, and of course will have major bragging rights!

Past participants have included standout displays from The Goldsmith by Rudi, Ltd., American Refinery, Narnia Studios, Four Seasons Hospice Home Store, and Piggy’s & Harry’s, known for their creativity and dedication to the community tradition. The contest adds a charming visual layer to the already popular festival.

Displays will be on view throughout the festival weekend along Main Street, providing a fun and interactive experience for visitors as they enjoy one of North Carolina’s most iconic celebrations.
