Hendersonville Fire Department Welcomes New Assistant Fire Marshal

The Hendersonville Fire Department welcomes a new Assistant Fire Marshal to the team. Nate Young joins Fire Marshal Ted Williams and Assistant Fire Marshal Greg Lamb in the Life Safety Division, which is responsible for managing fire safety inspections, fire investigations, enforcement of the fire code, community education and other fire prevention activities.
“Our Life Safety Division plays a key role in carrying out our department’s mission and protecting lives and property in the City of Hendersonville,” said Hendersonville Fire Chief D. James Miller. “Assistant Fire Marshal Young is a great addition to our team and his expertise in the life safety field is already being put to use in our growing community.”
Prior to his employment with Hendersonville, Assistant Fire Marshal Young served for eight years as a Fire Inspector III with the East Manatee Fire Rescue in Bradenton, FL. He has an Associate Degree in Fire Science and an extensive list of certifications. He served as the President of the East Manatee Firefighters’ Benevolent Association.
“I am passionate about life safety and the safety of our firefighters, residents, business owners, and visitors,” said Assistant Fire Marshal Young. He enjoys being in the fire service because he can help make a difference in the community and is excited to work in Hendersonville because he now gets to live and work in the beautiful mountains of WNC.
Nate Young is married and a father to two adult children and four fur babies. He is an avid motorcyclist and fisherman.
