Hendersonville Hosting Tree Giveaway to Help Rebuild Tree Canopy on October 26

The City of Hendersonville, in partnership with the City’s Tree Board, is hosting a Tree Giveaway on Sunday, October 26, 2025, to help replenish the community’s tree canopy following the losses from Hurricane Helene.
The event will take place at the City Operations Center located at 305 Williams Street, Hendersonville, NC.
12:00 pm – 1:00 pm: *City residents only*
1:00 pm – 4:00 pm: Open to non-City residents
Seven-gallon potted trees will be available while supplies last. Tree species include Sycamore, Pignut Hickory, Redbud, Persimmon, Crabapple, Overcup Oak, and Willow Oak.
“This giveaway is an opportunity to restore what was lost and continue our commitment to maintaining a healthy, vibrant urban forest,” said Tom Wooten, Public Works Director for the City of Hendersonville. “Many residents saw significant damage to trees during Hurricane Helene, and we’re proud to partner with the Tree Board to help replant and rebuild together.
Community members are encouraged to arrive early, as quantities are limited. Trees will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis, and staff will be available to provide planting and care guidance.
