Oklawaha Trail Pollinator Planting Workday

Thursday, May 11, 2023

Join the City of Hendersonville for a new series of volunteer workdays at the Oklawaha Pollinator trail!

Some of you may have spotted pollinator signs along the Oklawaha Trail. This is a project initially started by Hendersonville's Bee City USA program that is in need of some work and planting season is coming up!

On May 11th from 9:30-11:30am, we will be planting sunflowers and a wildflower mix to encourage our native pollinators. We will meet at the parking lot and walk over to the pollinator site. Please RSVP to Sustainability Manager, Caitlyn Gendusa at cgendusa@hvlnc.gov.

Oklawaha Greenway Parking area is off N. Main Street between N. Main Automotive and the bridge. Look for the dirt road beside the "Peanut's Garden Center,' sign. The group will meet at the designated parking area and walk to the pollinator site.
