The City of Hendersonville government offices will be closed on Thursday, November 24 and Friday, November 25, 2022, in observance of Thanksgiving.

No garbage, recycling, brush, or leaf collection will take place for City of Hendersonville customers on Thursday or Friday of the Thanksgiving holiday. Collection for Thursday and Friday customers will be delayed one week and any extra bagged garbage for those customers will be picked up when collection resumes on Thursday, December 1 and Friday, December 2.

Turkey Trot – November 24

The City of Hendersonville’s Wellness Committee will host its annual Turkey Trot 5k Thanksgiving morning on November 24, 2022. This year marks the Turkey Trot’s 10th Anniversary, alongside the City of Hendersonville’s 175th Anniversary. The 5k run/walk event starts at 8:30 a.m. at City Hall at Fifth Avenue East and King Street. A street closure of 5th Avenue from King to Church will occur to accommodate the race. The course travels through downtown and motorists should stay alert for race participants during the event. Registration for the race is closed, however unregistered community members are still invited to participate on race day. Holiday Tree Lighting – November 25

All are welcome to gather on the Historic Courthouse Plaza to sing Christmas carols, sip hot cocoa and watch for the man in red on Friday, November 25 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Kick off Small Business Saturday early by visiting your favorite downtown merchants!
