10th Annual Sleepout

As of June 2020, the Department of Education reported over TWO and A HALF MILLION students (grades K-12) homeless in the United States. Henderson County reported over 300 homeless kids during the 2019 - 2020 school year with 91 unaccompanied (which means no legal guardian taking care of them). Buncombe County reported over 500 homeless kids during the 2019 - 2020 school year with 105 unaccompanied (which means no legal guardian taking care of them)

To combat this, Only Hope WNC, a local non-profit wants to raise awareness and funds to help fight youth homelessness in Henderson County, we will host the 10TH annual Sleepout, November 5^th-6^th 2021. A group of board members and concerned citizens will be sleeping out at the Historic Courthouse Downtown Hendersonville on Main St to raise awareness and funds to help in our efforts to serve our youthful community.

DO YOU WANT TO SLEEPOUT?

Anyone can participate, young to old. The Only Thing that is required if you are under the age of 18, we must have parent approval and they must sign the waiver at the event. Not much is required; you can sleep any way you would like to. Sleeping is a sleeping bag, tent, box, or even just in the elements are allowed. But sleeping in clothes is required. When you register you do get an info packet on the event, in that packet there is a pledge form and we ask you to go out and ask your friends, and family for donations. We like using the term they are paying you to sleep outside. Do Not Go Door to Door that is not a safe way to raise funds. Fill out all the information to be registered, one form needs to be filled out for each person to participate. We request a $25 donation per person.
