Community Development Department

The Community Development Department is responsible for the review of the physical development of land within Hendersonville and Hendersonville's Extraterritorial Jurisdiction and with the administration of the Downtown Program and the Historic Preservation Commission. The Community Development Department reviews development projects to assure that they are in compliance with adopted codes and regulations. The Community Development Department is also responsible for the enforcement of the City of Hendersonville Zoning Ordinance including building setbacks, parking requirements, landscaping and signs, staffing the Board of Adjustment, and the enforcement of the Minimum Housing Ordinance and Nuisance Ordinance.
