Brennen Leigh Takes the Stage September 17 at Rhythm & Brews

Downtown Hendersonville will be filled with live music, great food, and family-friendly entertainment when Rhythm & Brews, presented by Horizon Heating & Air, returns to South Main Street on Thursday, September 17. Acclaimed country singer-songwriter Brennen Leigh will take the stage as the evening’s headliner, with The Dudes kicking off the night. 

Held on the third Thursday of each month from June through October, Rhythm & Brews offers a free outdoor concert experience in the heart of downtown Hendersonville. Attendees can enjoy live music along with locally crafted beer, cider and wine, a variety of food trucks, and activities for the whole family. The monthly series brings residents and visitors together to enjoy a festive evening in downtown Hendersonville. 

Headliner: Brennen Leigh(opens in a new tab) is an American songwriter, guitar player, mandolin player and singer whose to-the-point storytelling style has elevated her to cult icon status in Europe, Scandinavia, across the United States, South America and the United Kingdom. Her songs have been recorded by Lee Ann Womack, Rodney Crowell, Sunny Sweeney, Charley Crockett, and many others. With thoughtful, incisive lyrics and vibrant melodies at the forefront, Leigh has successfully created a modern gem, while honoring country music’s enduring golden era. 

Opening Act: “The Dudes”(opens in a new tab) In Western North Carolina there is a tradition of gathering on porches with stringed instruments.  Folks play songs that tell of battles won, love lost and life in rural America.  Birthed from that tradition and that spirit “The Dudes” play in a string band style that was common a century ago.  It swings like Ragtime, is the precursor of Rock and Roll and contains the stories and harmonies of country music.  “The Dudes” share a vast catalog of songs that reflects the strong friendship that is at the beating heart of this musical collective." 

Opening acts will kick off each evening around 5:30pm followed by the headliner performance from 7:30-9pm. 

Rhythm & Brews, Hendersonville’s signature outdoor concert series, features an exciting variety of musical genres and artists. With sounds ranging from soul and rock to bluegrass, country, and funk, every event offers something different, bringing together acclaimed touring performers and talented musicians from across the region. 

Families can find plenty of entertainment at the Kids Zone, presented by Mike’s on Main Street, where younger guests can enjoy activities designed just for them. Meanwhile, adults can unwind in the Rhythm & Brews beer, cider, and wine garden, featuring a variety of locally crafted beverages from Sierra Nevada Brewing Co., Bold Rock Hard Cider, Guidon Brewing Co., Oklawaha Brewing Co., Dry Falls Brewery, Saint Paul Mountain Vineyards, and Flat Rock Cider Company. 

Please leave your pets and coolers at home. Chairs are allowed on the Wells Fargo side of the event near the Kids Zone. There are several free and paid parking options available near the show, with the closest paid parking in the private lot at Barnwell and Main (access only from King Street), and free on-street parking outside of Church and King Streets.

All net proceeds from adult beverage sales will benefit the Friends of Downtown Hendersonville 501c3 nonprofit, whose mission is to identify, preserve and enhance the key factors that contribute to the authentic small town urban character of historic downtown Hendersonville.
