The City of Hendersonville is pleased to offer residents an opportunity to support sustainability at home through our Rain Barrel and Compost Bin Program. These tools provide simple, affordable ways to conserve water, reduce waste, and protect our environment, right from your backyard!
Both rain barrels and compost bins are available to order from the same online store, making it easy to take action in one convenient purchase.
You can purchase your discounted rain barrel for a price of $75 (regularly over $100). These high-quality barrels help residents:
- Reduce stormwater runoff and pollution
- Lower water bills
- Store rainwater for use during droughts
- Water gardens, lawns, or even wash pets and vehicles

How to Pick Up Your Order
For Rain Barrels:
Once your order is placed, contact Program Coordinator Dustin Moffitt at (828) 376-2117 to schedule your pickup Monday–Thursday, 9 AM – 5 PM, at:
City Operations Center Motor Pool

For Compost Bins:
Email a copy of your receipt to cgendusa@hvlnc.gov to schedule a pickup at City Operations Center: 305 Williams St., Hendersonville, NC 28792
Note: If you ordered both a compost bin and a rain barrel, you’ll need to coordinate pick-up separately with each contact
