The Hendersonville Farmers Market Celebrates It's Annual Tomato Day on July 25
HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. - Peak tomato season is around the corner in Western North Carolina, and the Hendersonville Farmers Market is celebrating one of its favorite annual traditions. Shoppers are invited to join the fun during the market's annual Tomato Day Celebration on Saturday, July 25, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Historic Train Depot, 650 Maple Street.
Market vendors will offer an incredible selection of locally grown tomatoes and specialty varieties in a wide range of shapes, sizes, and flavors. Shoppers will also find fresh fruits and vegetables, meats, baked goods, coffee, flowers, plants, artisan crafts, and other locally produced goods. In addition to more than 40 local vendors offering fresh seasonal produce and handcrafted goods.
Live music will be provided by Jacob Dunham, creating the perfect soundtrack for a summer morning at the market.
The market will feature several tomato-themed activities throughout the day such as:
Free Tomato Sammies
Enjoy a complimentary half-sized tomato sandwich while supplies last, made the classic way with fresh Henderson County tomatoes, bread, and Duke's mayonnaise. Watch and thank our volunteers for assembling these sandwiches fresh throughout the morning.
Tomato Beauty Pageant
Cast your vote for your favorite tomato in the market's annual Tomato Beauty Pageant, where local growers will showcase some of their biggest, brightest, and most unique tomatoes of the season.
Terrye Tomato Mascot
Keep an eye out for Terrye Tomato, the market's cheerful tomato mascot! Terrye Tomato will be strolling around the market, greeting shoppers, posing for photos, and spreading plenty of tomato cheer throughout the morning.
New this year! Flat Terrye Tomato's 7th Avenue Adventure
Continue the fun beyond the market with Flat Terrye Tomato's 7th Avenue Adventure! Pick up a free Flat Terrye Tomato at the Hendersonville Farmers Market, color your tomato, then take Terrye on an adventure through the 7th Avenue District. Visit participating businesses along the way to collect passport stamps while exploring downtown's creative edge! It's a fun, self-guided activity that encourages visitors of all ages to discover everything the 7th Avenue District has to offer while celebrating one of Hendersonville's favorite summer traditions.
The Hendersonville Farmers Market is held every Saturday from May through October from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Historic Train Depot on Maple Street. The producer-only market features local farms, food producers, artisans, and specialty vendors from across the region.

Hendersonville Farmers Market – July 3rd | 5PM–8PM
Join us tomorrow, Friday, July 3, for a special Hendersonville Farmers Market Evening Market as we celebrate America's 250th Birthday!
For one weekend only, we're trading our traditional Saturday morning market for an evening on Maple Street from 5:00 PM–8:00 PM. Come enjoy fresh local food, handmade goods, live music, and a fun night! Maple Street will have no parking after 2pm on to get ready for the event on July 3rd.
We'll have FREE hot dogs (while supplies last), live music by Jacob Dunham, a Kid's Zone, face painting inside the Historic Train Depot, yard games, and plenty of opportunities to shop local while celebrating with the community.
Please note: This special Friday Evening Market replaces our regular Saturday Farmers Market this weekend. We'll be back to our normal Saturday schedule next weekend

This weekend we’re also celebrating Health & Wellness Day at the Hendersonville Farmers Market! Shopping local farmers markets is a great way to support both your personal health and local agriculture by bringing fresh, locally grown foods straight to your table.
Plus, during Strive Not to Drive Week, we’ll be hosting a Walk Audit Training in the spirit of health. Trainings will be held at 9:30am and 11:30am at the. Community members are encouraged to participate, share feedback, and help support a more walkable downtown experience. Participants will receive a market token as a thank-you for joining in!
