The City's Public Works Department maintains public parks including: Berkeley Mills Park, Boyd Park, Dr. Martin Luther King Park, King Memorial Park, Lenox Park, Patton Park, Pets' Own Place on Seventh Avenue, Sullivan Park (Green Meadows), Toms Park as well as the Oklawaha Greenway.

Berkeley Mills Park
Located at 69 Balfour Road and features: a baseball park and a large pavilion with restrooms. Plans are being developed for a nature trail. Phase three of the Oklawaha Greenway connects to the Park at Balfour Road. If you are interested in reserving the pavilion for a private party please call (828) 697-3084. The pavilion can be rented out in four hour increments and the fee is $50.
Berkeley Mills Park Master Plan [PDF]
Located on Highway 25 North (King Street). It features: two tennis courts and a miniature golf course (putt-putt). The tennis courts are currently being renovated. When finished, we will have a new asphalt surface with standard tennis court lines and pickle ball lines, new lighting, and new fencing.
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Park
Located at Fourth Avenue and Grove Street and features: picnic tables, a walking path, and a granite memorial.
William H. King Memorial Park
Located on Seventh Avenue East. It is comprised of six acres and features: a baseball field, a one-mile nature trail, and a one-half mile walking trail.
Located on Lenox Avenue. It is comprised of one-half acre and has picnic tables. It also has a historic natural spring.
The trail begins near the Henderson County Parks & Recreation building in Jackson Park and travels three and a quarter miles to Berkeley Mills Park with connections to Patton Park, Sullivan Park, and William H. King Memorial Park. The trail closely follows Mud Creek and is mostly shaded by mature trees along the trail and creek. The trail is ten feet wide with an asphalt surface. Mileage signs are placed every quarter of a mile along the trail to help trail users know how far they have traveled and how much farther it is to their destination. Several benches are placed along the trail for people to stop and take a rest. There are three bike FixIt Stations with common tools for working on bicycles located at Berkeley Mills Park, Patton Park, and Jackson Park. We have drinking fountains located at Berkeley Mills Park and at the 7th Avenue crossing area by the City's dog park, Pets' Own Place. All motorized vehicles and/or equipment including scooters are prohibited from the trail (except for city and county maintenance equipment and Law Enforcement).

Located on Highway 25 North. It is comprised of 19 acres and features: 2 baseball fields, basketball courts, 4 racquetball courts, 2 tennis courts, a football field, two pavilions with picnic tables and grills, 2 gazebos, a playground for tots, a one-half mile lighted walking trail, an Olympics-sized swimming pool (open from Memorial Day to Labor Day), bathrooms and a skate park. Our basketball courts and tennis courts just received a new surface treatment and we added pickle ball lines to the tennis courts. The operating hours for Patton Park and the Skate Park are 7 am-11 pm daily. If you are interested in reserving the pavilion for a private party, please call (828) 697-3084. The large pavilion (next to the pool) is available to rent in four hour increments for $50, if you wish to reserve for the entire day the fee is $100 and the small pavilion (next to the basketball courts) is $25 for four hours, and $50 for the entire day.
Pets' Own Place on Seventh Avenue
Located at 1019 Seventh Avenue East, is a fenced dog park with two separate section for small and large dogs. There is also a waste bag dispenser, trash receptacle and a water spigot. The park is located across Mud Creek at the Oklawaha Greenway trail head. Parking is available off Seventh Avenue.
Located on Ashe Street in the Green Meadows subdivision. It is comprised of five acres and features include: two basketball courts, an equipped playground, picnic tables and a public restroom (open seasonally). We now have an asphalt connector that connects Sullivan Park with the Oklawaha Greenway Trail.
Located on Lily Pond Lane off West Allen Street. It is comprised of five acres and features: 27 shuffleboard courts, picnic tables, and the Whitmire Activity Building that is currently used by the Hendersonville Bridge Club.
