All City of Hendersonville government offices will be closed on Thursday, November 28, 2019 and Friday, November 29, 2019 in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.
There will be no garbage, recycling, or brush collection on Thursday, November 28. On Friday, November 29, collection will resume regular schedule as well as include collection for the Thursday routes.

Thanksgiving Weekend Street Closures
Turkey Trot 5k
On Thursday, November 28, the City of Hendersonville will be hosting their annual Turkey Trot 5k. The Turkey Trot is a run/walk event open to all ages, all fitness levels, and all family members. The 5k starts in front of City Hall on 5th Avenue on Thanksgiving morning at 8:30 am and travels through downtown ending back at City Hall. 5th Avenue between King and Main will be closed starting at 7:00 am. Motorists are asked to remain vigilant for participants along the course consisting of Main St, Barnwell St, Washington St, Valley St, 4th Ave W, and 5th Ave W. Downtown Holiday Street Lighting Ceremony
On Friday, November 29, Downtown Hendersonville will be hosting the annual ‘Here Comes Santa Street Lighting’ event. The evening will feature music, hot drinks, shopping, carriage rides, and a countdown to Santa’s arrival and the lighting of the downtown lights. The event kicks off at 5:00 pm in front of the Historic Courthouse on Main Street. Visits with Santa and carriage rides will conclude at 8:00 pm. Main Street between 1st and 2nd will be closed to traffic starting at 3:00 pm and the block will reopen following the conclusion of the event.
