Offices Closed for Independence Day - Holiday Information

The City of Hendersonville government offices will be closed Friday, July 3, 2020, in observance of Independence Day.

Garbage, Recycling, and Brush Collection will be operating on a regular schedule. For water/sewer issues occurring on July 3, please use the after-hours number at (828) 891-7779.


Open Streets

Another Open Streets weekend will take place from 6pm on Friday, July 3 and run through Sunday, July 5. This weekend closure of Main Street between Allen Street and 6th Avenue promotes an enhanced pedestrian environment and encourages social distancing while supporting local businesses. Avenues remain open to traffic with handicap parking available in the 100 block, the 600 block near the restored Coca-Cola mural, and the City Hall parking lot located at 160 6th Avenue E. 4th of July Farmers Market

The Hendersonville Farmers Market will be taking place at the Historic Train Depot on Maple Street from 8:00 am - 1:00 pm. More information.


4th of July Fireworks

A spectacular Independence Day fireworks display will take place at sundown at 9:30pm. The Independence Day Fireworks Display may be viewed from downtown Hendersonville and the south side of town near the intersection of Hwy. 225 South and Hwy. 176 and along Spartanburg Highway. A large red balloon will be launched the morning of the 4th to signify visibility of the fireworks show, if you can see the “Big Red Balloon”, you can see the fireworks from your location. The fireworks launch site is off of South Grove Street, which is not accessible to the public. 

In keeping with social distancing guidelines there will not be a Music on Main concert held this year on July 4th.  Tune into WTZQ AM-1600 & The Q – 95.3 FM for a patriotic soundtrack that will be synchronized to the fireworks display.
