Walk of Fame Steering Committee
The Walk of Fame Steering Committee was established in 2016 by the Hendersonville City Council and Henderson County Board of Commissioners to honor those individuals who have made a significant and lasting contribution to the quality of life in Henderson County – who have, indeed, cast a long shadow on our county history.
The honorees may come from any field of endeavor – agriculture, business, cultural arts, education, government, human services, industry, medicine, religion and others. The Walk of Fame Committee is proud to present the first class of honorees, nominated by citizens and selected by a panel of judges knowledgeable about and invested in the growth and quality of this wonderful place we are proud to call our home.
The purpose of this committee is to advise the Hendersonville City Council and County Board of Commissioners on matters related to a Walk of Fame.
The Walk of Fame Steering Committee shall be comprised of five (5) voting members. Three (3) members who must reside within the City of Hendersonville are appointed by the Hendersonville City Council.
The two (2) remaining voting members are appointed by the County Board of Commissioners. Persons seeking to apply for these seats must fill out a County Boards/Commissions/Committees application.
The City of Hendersonville Public Works Director or their designee shall serve as a non-voting Ex-Officio Member.
Meetings are held at 10:00 a.m. on the Second Tuesday of each month in the second floor small conference room located at 160 6th Ave. East.
