(HENDERSONVILLE, NC, January 7, 2020) – California artist M.E. "Mike" Bailey has been chosen to adjudicate artists’ submissions and applications for the 2020 ArtScape Banner Project, the ArtScape Committee has announced. Bailey has served as juror for numerous national art exhibitions around the country. His own work has received national and international recognition via awards, magazines and books, and assorted international exhibitions. His skill as artist and teacher has put him on the “workshop circuit” across the U.S. A signature member of the two most prestigious national associations -- American Watercolor Society (AWS) and National Watercolor Society (NWS) -- Bailey is also a past president of NWS. His paintings are held in private and corporate collections in the U.S., Europe and Australia.
Working in both oils and watercolors, he paints in various genres and is especially fond of plein air painting. He designed and teaches a popular college-level course, "Painting Beyond the Obvious." Many students find his program so rich that they have taken this course several times. His paintings, insightful articles and blogs, and more information are available at www.mebaileyart.com.
